U JUMP I JUMP

Finally I watched Titanic. Yup it’s the so called epic love story and I never watch it. Like I care haha. But since it comes in 3D, lets give Titanic a chance, shall we? They come out in 3d form. In memoir of 100 years after the ‘unsinkable’ ship hit the iceberg at 11:40 p.m. on the night of April 14, 1912, and sunk just over two-and-a-half hours later. What a stats huh?
the titanic
My question, at the end of the story is how can people love someone that he/she barely knew so dearly that you sacrifice your life for him/her? Is it possible? Does it make sense? I mean, its only few days, and you are willing to catch the grenade for your lover (analogy berkorban untuk cinta sekarang pakai lagu Bruno Mars hehe).
Ok la I admit la romantic la seposen part ni hehe. Nanti orang cakap I hati kayu pulak. ;)
Rose is the perfect example to show that love can’t be forced (cinta tak boleh dipaksa ok). Cal is rich (but ugly lol. Why does he has to put that eyeliner on?). But she is not happy (although she loves all the expensive paintings. Mata duitan jugak kau Rose). She found her happiness in that poor, bubbly boy, Jack. Jack is determined to enlighten Rose what real love is. To cut the story short, yadda yadda, u jump I jump. Hehe.

I think I don’t have to review much on that movie, everybody has watch it right, except me. So lame. The 3D effect? Pfftt! Nothing much. Tak cantik pon. But what do I expect, its not like they remake the movie pon.

And the ultimate morale and lesson of the Titanic (the real Titanic collision, not the lovey-dovey Rose-Jack version)? Leadership failed! Yes. Leadership. It’s the captain, the engineer, the owner, the boss, who make the call to speed it up. To test the limit. Quoted from Titanic-facts.com: On the morning of April 15, 1912, the sinking of the Titanic the previous night shocked the world. The year had dawned bright with promise and the maiden voyage of the Titanic was a symbol of the advances mankind had made in the last few years. The ship was considered to have been so well constructed it was believed she could sustain any amount of damage and still remain afloat. Late on the night of April 14, 1912, the sinking of the Titanic proved this idea wrong in a horribly tragic way.

Secondly, don’t be too proud of what u have. We are merely human after all. Especially as a Muslim, we have faith that Allah is the Almighty. So no matter how good u are (or u think u are), just remember that God is way better. We only plan, and Allah is the ultimate planner. So pray fellas. No matter what car u drive, what ship u sail, no matter how good the manufacturing is, always rely on Allah for your plan to run smoothly, for your journey to be safe.

Thirdly, rich people are bitches and bastards! Nuff said. Well, not all of them, but majority of them.

Another lesson. I went for the movie with a friend. And here’s our conversation:

Me: Rose ni gemuk jugak eh.
My friend: Aah.
And when the story is about to end, during the scene where Rose is freezing to death and not realizing that her u jump I jump lover is already resting in peace (or rather resting in the cold Atlantic), we continue our amateur review:
Me: Ni mesti hypothermic ni, sejuk gile.
My friend: Nak tau sebab apa Rose tak mati? Sebab dia banyak lemak.
Me: *Rolling eyes*.

Hahaha that was Titanic’s punch line.

p/s thank you ;)

MARCH AND APRIL: THE PACKING AND UNPACKING MONTHS

I’ve been away quite a lot on March and April, for work and family matters. It’s very tiring. Here are the summary:

16 March
Went to IIUM Gombak to survey the cafés there. IIUM is going to implement healthy café concept, thus Facilities and Food Service Department (FFSD) has invited Miya and I to give talk on healthy food preparation.

17 March
Dah alang-alang outstation at Gombak on Friday, we stayed overnight at KL to attend Mazu’s wedding on Saturday. After the wedding, I drove back to Pahang.
Curik dari FB Kini. Hihi thanks kini. ;)
 29 March
This time, Miya drive to IIUM Gombak for the healthy café talk. We stayed at my sister’s place in Shah Alam, before continue our journey to Cameron Highland for the IEEP the next morning.
After the talk. We were so relieved it was over. Terpancar kebahagiaan kan.
 30 March – 1 April
IEEP!

5-7 April
Nutrition and Dietetics Professional Competency Symposium at IMU and IJN. Of course went with Miya, and this time, I drive (bagus kan kitorang main gilir2 ;)). Nasib baik kat KL ada orang sudi bawak pergi dinner malam2. Thank you.. ^^v
The author of our textbook, Miss Escott-Stump. Mesti dia upset kalau tahu I fotostat buku dia kan. Gomene, we were students back then. We dont have much money.
 20 -23 April
Off to Jakarta/Bandung for my brother’s convocation, or they called it Wisuda Sarjana. Sambil menyelam minum air, we also went for sightseeing and also, a little shopping (read: a little saje).
At Kawah Domas of Tangkuban Parahu, Bandung. Tiga orang ahli rombongan bersama pak supirnya.
Oh yes, we have also completed all the CME by products company to the third year students, as preparation before they go through clinical year, for them to get used to the products that commonly used in hospital setting. So nanti, dah clinical year, kalau tak tau lagi Ensure untuk apa, Glucerna SR untuk apa, memang nak kena haipppppp la dengan I. The company that has come are Pfizer Nutrition, Abbott, Dutchlady, Danone Dumex, Pharm-D, and Nestle. Alhamdulillah, all the Nutrition Executive that me and Miya contacted cooperate very well and are willing to come to share with the students. All 7 talks have been done successfully throughout February, March and April, Alhamdulillah. I hope that the students gain a lot from all those talks.

If I don’t have anything up on the weekend, rumah mak is my destination. Its only 1 ½ hour drive, so apa salahnya balik. It’s not like I have anything to do pon here in Kuantan on the weekend , so hohoho balik kampunglah.

So yes, March and April are tiring months, travelling and driving every weekend. But of course, it is the amanah that I have to carry, so I’m not whining, me writing this just to remember the ups and downs, the hustle and bustle in life. Peace!

p/s: the only thing i hate of being away is packing and unpacking. sangat malas. tapi i selalu dapat support masa packing *big grin* ;).

p/s: i have no issue kalau kena outstation ke KL lagi. bagi la lagi aiman tak kesah..... hihihihihi. ;) ;) ;)

THE COLD CAMERON

Someone asked for a pictorial report for the visit to Cameron Highland last week. I'm sorry its late. Gomene...

So KAHS organized the IEEP (Islamic Enhancement and Evaluation Programme) cum family day for the staffs and family, happening 31st March till 2nd April last week. I, of course came alone to the programme, being single and cute (apekah kaitan??). Lol. But since Miya and I involved in the healthy cafe programme in IIUM Gombak the day before, so we went by Miya's car. Our journey starts as early as 7.30 am from my sister's place in Shah Alam. Bismillah..
Nom nom nom budak kuat makan
Our first stop is Hentian Sebelah Simpang Pulai, before exit Simpang Pulai. We went up to Cameron through this route as recommended by few people, saying that the route is easier. I am having a nice hazelnut coffee and shared my favorite chocolate-strawberry waffel with Miya. And no, its not the right call. Having coffee before going through the jalan bengkang bengkok is a bad decision. Headache and diuretic effect. Full stop. I've learnt my lesson. ;)

Since I have the urgency to PU thanks to the coffee (that's pass urine, for those who didnt know), we  stop by at Brinchang (that's before Tanah Rata, our destination) at this place called S'Corner, where it has strawberry and mushroom farm.

For the record I wont have the gut to eat mushroom with this color. Looks poisonous right?
So after we did we we got to do (=p), our journey continues. But these two grown up ladies who didnt know how to read map and could not find any signage of the hotel that we about to stay happily went straight pass it until we reach Boh tea plantation and sense that we were wrong (its quite far from Tanah Rata). So, another pit stop yeay haha.
Miya
I knew I looked fat but screw that ok. Just enjoy the beautiful tea farm. ;)
After enjoying the sunny and cold afternoon at the tea farm, we were heading back to our target destination, Cool Point Hotel. Its a budget hotel, so I dont wanna talk much about it, heh.We have a chill evening at the hotel, relaxing, while waiting the rest of the KAHS family to arrived. And yeah we went to the evening market at Brinchang later that evening, during the rainy day. I bought a cute strawberry umbrella, eat jagung bakar in the rain, and shiver all night long hihi.
Steamboat dinner + opening ceremony. Dine with this great couple. Miya and Iqbal were so nice to me, knowing that I'm all alone and lonely (sedih tak?). Thank you friends. :)
The first morning in Cameron is chilly (of course) and the first destination is the Taman Agroteknologi Mardi.
Its look dark but the weather is actually sunny
What I like so much about this farm is flowers! There are a lot of them. And they are pretty. Like like like! Orang lain sibuk kat strawberry farm I tak menyempat pergi tengok munge dulu.
The pretty purple lavender
Cuteness overload!!! Snow daisy. Alahai cutenya cutenye cutenye rasa nak makan.
I'm not a big fan of rose. Tapi kena la ada kan.. Nanti munge ros sedih dengan I. :)
All time favorite: Daisy si Cantik manis dan sopan. I selalu rasa Daisy ni munge yang sopan. Who second me?
Dah nama pon all time favorite kan.. This time its red and white.
I love this one too. Reminds me of Narnia. Kan? Kan?
I dont like our first lady but that doesnt means I'm not patriotic (apakah kaitan??). Presenting bunga raya bunga kebangsaan. Demi negara yang tecinta ku curahkan bakti penuh setia~~
Banyak lagi gambar herbs kite amik. Parsley cukup la eh?
Someone pls hand me thousand island. These salads look unsinfully delicious and healthy!
Masak lomak sodap nih hihi.
Tomatoman!
After lunch, we have telematch. Indoor telematch! Aigoo very crowded. Tak sesuai ok. But I managed to join one. Team up with Dr Muz, Dr Muhammad, Zati and Shaz main Bowling cawan polistrin. Hey only 1 'pin' left tau. Not bad huh?
on your mark!
Later that evening, Miya and Iqbal ajak pergi tea plantation. Of course the me that is tak malu nak join kan. Hihihi. The scene is marvelous, the weather is cold and windy and serene, but teetttt! I got car-sick on the way there. So uncool! The route is very small and very bengkang bengkok dont blame me. :)
Upon arrival, holding back the nausea feeling. Kesian kite kan?
Esok-esok kalau dah kahwin kite nak ajak suami jalan2 macam ni la. Hewhewhew romantic noks.
Subhanallah so beautiful.
Angin kuat sejuk sangat. This is after we climbed a good 174m hill to the view point. Love on top yeah!
On the way down. Bumped into this Bangladeshi working on the tea leaves.
On the way back to hotel singgah at this Cameron Bharat Tea House. Its one of me and Miya's dream to have a nice cuppa tea. I have Mint Pudina Tea with Carrot cake. The cake is sinfully awesome. *drool*
Introducing my strawberry umbrella! ^^v
The visit to tea plantation is sooo cool! I like it so much. Thanks to Miya and Bal for bringing me up there hehe. Well on the very last day we just did discussion, group by department on certain kuliyyah's issue, and did some last minute shopping at KEA farm. I bougt vegies, dried strawberries, and sweet corn for my mother. ;)
At KEA farm. Barang2 I beli letak kat bawah, berat, x ada orang nak tolong bawak. :(
Well thats about it. Overall its a laid back and relaxing visit. So please give me an A for this report ok. Cool! ^^v

THE BEST LITTLE BOOK CLUB IN TOWN

So I bought a new love. The Best Little Book Club in Town is the collection of short tales –of love, passion, mystery, and life –written by various authors. Bought it at Popular Wangsa Walk few days back. I finished the first story, and it hooked me up.

Cute isn't it?
The first story called Rising written by Naomi Alderman. Here’s my favorite quote:

~It was the dough in particular that she found herself longing for as if it were a lover. Perhaps it was the rhythm, knead-stretch, knead-stretch, that emptied her mind of all thoughts, that meant that when a thought of Pete arose she could pummel it into the dough until it dissipated. Perhaps it was the simplicity of it.

She had a mixing machine, but she found that she preferred to knead herself.  Plunging her arms into the dough, she thought of the generations, the centuries of people who had made bread like this. Leaving it to rise and prove, she felt a certain nurturing, a sense that everything had its time and order, that nothing needed to be rushed.

Bread is powerful.~

Lovely isn’t it?

P/s I have to put Angry Fat Girls on hold at the moment. The Best Little Book Club in Town is so captivating.

GAMAT DAN COKLAT

'Nah minyak gamat, buat ubat luka..'
'Boleh ubat luka di hati kah?'
'Errr..sepertinya tidak'
'Oh, jangan bimbang. Hati saya tak terluka sekarang ;)'
 ------------------------

'Syahiza, awak nak pesan apa-apa dari Langkawi?'
'Saya nak coklat t**k'
'Huh?? Kisses? Haippp!'
<Mungkin kite kena tukar, panggil die coklat stupa candi borobudur. Baru sopan.>
----------------------------

P/S Gamat dan Coklat, dua-dua pengubat luka, figuratively dan literally, luka berdarah dan luka di hati. Harapnya tak ada lah yang hatinya terluka ya :)

P/S Thanks Miya chan... Love!

ANGRY FAT GIRLS

One of the things that I don’t like about Kuantan is it doesn’t has book store. Ok it has one, Popular bookstore in Berjaya Megamall, but that’s the only one. A boring one.  A ‘lack of choices’ one. A ‘no variety’ one. Pathetic right?

I love reading, but lately I don’t really read books. Part of it is because there aren’t many choices in Kuantan. And of course, I became lazier by day. Besides, there are blogs and websites that hooked me up, so I still read, but not books. The last book that I bought is Kisah Para Nabi dan Rasul from MPH The Curve (while I was working in Selayang Hospital). Two stories book store is heaven! Sometimes I don’t even have any intention to buy book, but every time I passed by a book store, I must have the feeling to drop by. Browsing through the books, synopsis, admiring the creative and beautiful book covers (yes I love to judge a book from its cover-not literally), its endless! Tapi buku yang kite nak selalu mahal, so I end up not buying them. I should be less stingy when it comes to buying books right? Hehe.

The last book that I read is The Firm by John Grisham (it is actually a re-read). Omg I love Grisham’s work. I started reading his novel during matriculation time. They were a lot of his books in the library. Dulu kite selalu pergi library dgn Hum and Ecah (Radio) and Kak Timah, tapi diorang study kite tidur. Lol. I have read The Pelican Brief (in two days –it is so good I can never put it down), The Testament, A time to kill, the firm, the last jury and one or two more that I have forgotten the title.

Eh apa yang kite nak cerita sebenarnya? Hehe. MPH is having MPH Kuantan book carnival from 9 to 18 March at Zenith Hotel. Weehooo! I went there today (on the very first day, tanak kalah nokss), and spent my whole Friday lunch break there. I even skipped lunch today aha. But it is quite disappointing. The huge discount book (70%) are not organized. They are haywire and mixed. So I have to go through shelf by shelf to detect any good book. Penat tahu tak. Headache. I managed myself to find one anyway. Tadaa..
Stories of 5 women battling with weight issues -true story
Ok i lied when  I said I skipped lunch. A slice of Pandan Layer Cake from Rotiboy, Java Chips Mocha Frap, and a great book. I could live with that. :)
I flipped a few pages, scheme and scan, and grab it. It’s the last copy. 70% so I got it for only rm29. Yea great bargain. There are few more that I wanted so badly but damn I’m on saving mode (for the Jakarta trip –I hope it’s on, and Cameron Highland visit). Buku lain yang kite nak tu tak ada discount pulak tu. Haissshh kecewa betul.

But anyway, I am still happy with the Angry Fat Girls. Cant wait to start read it. Masa kite baru sampai bookfair tu tadi, Ustaz Zahazan ada, promoting his books and giving tazkirah *on other note, saya sangat suka Ustaz Zahazan*. He said that ‘sebaik-baik teman pada zaman ini adalah buku’. I bet kat library sekolah semua orang ada mural tulis ‘Membaca Jambatan Ilmu’, right? Lets make reading a habit peeps! Lets build a lot of knowledge bridges, jangan nak bina masjid je. Hihihi.

p/s I begged u MPH, pls open an outlet here. Pleaseeee….
